Remembering September 11th
In Sandy City, They do this thing called the “Healing Field”. They have so many flags that represent the people who lost their lives on that terrible day. It’s kind of mind boggling to see them all, because they represent so many lives. When you hear a number, you think wow… But actually seeing something that symbolizes the same number, it’s totally different.

I go to this every year. I didn’t lose anyone on September 11th, but I feel so strong about it and remembering it. As I walk through the waving flags I think of all the families affected and especially the children. 2,800 children lost a parent that day. But, I think it’s amazing that we have made it become something that has made us stronger and wanting to make our lives better. Some of these kids have said they want to do good things for people like volunteer, in hopes that the acts of September 11th will never happen again.

I hope we can all remember how we felt that day and make sure we never feel that way again. I hope we can be better people every day because you never know when it will be your last.

“Our nation has endured trials, and we face a difficult road ahead, winning this war will require the determined efforts of a unified country. So we must put aside our differences and work together to meet the test that history has given us.” President George W. Bush (9/11/2006)
